KAI-ISAIAH JAMAL : PLACE, MEMORY, IDENTITY
THE CONWAY LIBRARY
As part of The Courtauld's Elucidations learning resource Kai-Isaiah Jamal a spoken word poet, writer, and trans-visibility activist, was invited to spend a day in The Conway Library to research and respond to the archives with help from the Head of Digital Media, Tom Bilson. Toya was asked to produce a visual record of the day in real time.
Through a process of dialogic learning and shared practice they produced a rich collage of influences connecting place, history and identity that registers the intersections of desire, love, politics and boundaries.
